We at ILLI believe as we were taught by our traditional Native American elders that generosity to a healthy community. Just as the lakes flow through the rocks from the peaks of our traditional homeland carving a path for life-giving water to flow the three oceans of our North American continent, gratitude must be expressed for the land by reciprocal action.
Philanthropic Efforts
Noxious Weeds and Invasive Species
Knapweed and other noxious weed prevention and eradication on the eastern edge of Glacier National Park is an issue that all of us should be concerned with. These unwanted blights threaten native plants and animals by competing for nutrients. Brought to Glacier National Park and surrounding area by highway travel, rafts, cattle, and railroad. ILLI staff are leaders in raising consciousness and performing actions to prevent and eradicate the noxious weed. We contribute 5% of gross sales to efforts.
Youth Executive Skills Development
Partnering with Alliance for Youth, Inside Lakes Learning Institute provides 5% of gross revenue to provide skill-building education and activities for youth on Blackfeet Indian Reservation. Glacier's Purpose
The purpose of Glacier National Park, part of the world's first international peace park, is to preserve the scenic glacially carved landscape, wildlife, natural processes, and cultural heritage at the heart of the Crown of the Continent for the benefit, enjoyment, and understanding of the public.
Federal law mandates the NPS issue CUAs only for commercial activities and visitor services that:
Are determined to be an appropriate use of the park,
Will have minimal impact on park resources and values, and
Are consistent with the park's purpose, management plans, policies, and regulations.
